Travelling from overseas or the United States you will need the proper documentation as Vancouver Island is in British Columbia Canada .
The Vancouver Airport will be your arrival destination and from there you will
have three choices as to the mode of travel you select to the island.
1. Take a BC Ferry from Vancouver, BC to Victoria or Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.
2. Take a float plane, small aircraft or helijet from Vancouver or Seattle to Victoria, Nanaimo, or Comox.
3. Fly commercial airlines either into or out of Victoria International Airport (YYJ) or Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
If you select the ferry it would pay you to walk on as the cost of transporting a car can be expensive. Rent your vehicle when you arrive on the island.
